We were excited to introduce our son to the world of time-independence and when his new Timex Kids' T78141 Camouflage Stretch Band Watch arrived, we were all very excited.
However, within days of him wearing it the fabric strap started to deteriorate. The face showed even the slightest of scuffs and within a couple of weeks the watch looked years old.
Its water resistance rating didn't hold up, as after six weeks it stopped working all together.
Even if it had have kept working, the strap would have faded away within six months and the 'soft' watch face would have scratched beyond recognition, rendering reading the time near impossible.
We're now looking at Adidas and Swatch to replace it. -- it lasted six weeks :/
My boy of 7 really got into military toys, I being a former Marine. He loves this watch. It's the only watch he actually looks for when its not on his wrist. The helicopter second hand is really cool and none of the kids at school had a watch like this one. He's had it for a year now and its still going strong. We like the band because when it gets wet it dries easily. Great product, I recommend strongly. -- My Kid Loves It!
In the words of my 6 year old, "I think you said it was waterproof but it wasn't. The light is not working because water got in it and made it so the dial (helicopter-second hand, and the other hands) would not work. This started after about one month after I got it for my birthday. The wrist band was great! The same thing happened to my sisters watch -the flowered one." -- cute but leaky
I bought this watch for my friend's son who was turning six. He was really excited to see the camo colors and the little helicopter inside the face. His mom called me a few days later to say that it was his favorite birthday present and that he wears it every day. Amazon was great too -- I ordered and received the watch in just a couple of days!
